CHRISTIAN APPALACHIAN PROJECT / ONLINE GIVING

SECURITY POLICY

We work hard to make sure your contribution is safe and secure. We use the leading technologies and practices in the e-commerce industry to protect your personal information.
- We use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry-standard for sending encrypted information
- We encrypt all of your personal information and route it through our firewall
- We will not share your password with anyone or ask you for it

How do you protect my personal information?
When you make donations or access your "Giving Portfolio" as a donor or access your nonprofit organization's information as an authorized representative, you do so using our secure server. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all information that you input before it is sent. In addition, we require the use of user names and passwords, where appropriate, and store data behind a secure firewall.

Can anyone access my personal information?
For those areas of our web site where you are allowed to access your personal information, we require a user name and password to authenticate your identity before you can enter those areas. We ask you to choose an password of no less than four characters in length.

Will my personal information get "intercepted" when it is being sent to you over the web?
All personally identifiable information you send us while you are on our secure server is encrypted, meaning that it is transformed into unrecognizable characters until we decrypt it when it reaches us. All the data you send to us during a secure session is sent via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry-standard for sending encrypted information. You can tell if you are on our secure server in two ways: a key or closed lock will be visible in the lower portion of your browser, or "https" will appear in either the address portion of your browser or in the URL of a selected hyperlink. For greater protection of your data, we recommend that you use a web-browser that supports 128-bit encryption.

How safe it my personal information on your servers & network?
All incoming encrypted information is routed through our firewall, which serves as the gatekeeper for our system. Only data containing the correct authorization is permitted past the firewall. Attempts to pass the firewall are constantly monitored for suspicious activity.

Password Protection
Do not share your password with anyone. Other than for login or sign-on purposes, we will never ask you for your password. If you ever receive such a request from someone claiming to be us, do not give them your password and contact us immediately. The only one who needs to know your password is you! If you forget your password, email us at info@OnlineGiving.com.

If you have any questions or comments about this Security Statement, please contact us by email: info@OnlineGiving.com. We will respond to your email within 24 hours.
